Joint Council Update Program International Relations Initiative Date September 4, 2008 Regarding Visit from Dutch and Belgian Central Authorities Joint Council is pleased to announce that on Monday, September 8, 2008 we will have the honor of hosting members of the US Dept of State and various members of the Dutch and Belgian Central Authorities. Joint Council has been asked to host members of the Dutch and Belgian Central Authorities due to its diverse membership including ASP, medical professionals, and Support Groups. Members of the Dutch and Belgian Central Authorities will include: Arjan van Leur, Director of the Dutch Central Authority; Joel D. van Andel, Advisor in the MFA on Intercountry Adoption; Bertie Treur, President of Child and Future Foundation; Dorine Chamon, Director of the Belgian Central Authority, and An Rimez, Legal Officer of the Belgian Central Authority. The intention of the meeting is to discuss Outgoing Cases. Joint Council values the input from its Member Organizations (MO's) and requests that any information or questions MO's have regarding Outgoing Cases (most pertinent are those regarding Outgoing Cases to The Netherlands and Belgium) be sent to Rebecca Harris at rebeccah@jcics.org by the end of business on Friday, September 5, 2008.
