Subject: Our telephone call
Dear Arun,
I am sorry, I hung up, but I did not hear you anymore. I thought to call you back, but I do not have your number. My colleague forwarded your call to me and I can only see her number.
But I think we were closing up, so I hope it is okay if I end with sending you this e-mail.
I will discuss your position and your feelings regarding Anand Kaper ea. I will also discuss the position of the ISS network with our Dutch Fiom organisation, as if the ISS network is sending out other statements, statements Fiom can not agree to, we should publicly let this know (or at least start the discussion with the ISS network first).
Of course, I know that organisations that have been involved with (il)legal adoptions are still in the ISS network. However, I also know that these members are now sometimes very involved in tracing cases and they do have information about the birth parents or have good access to information about them. I am sure you would agree with me that you can not keep judging if the current situation has changed this much. The people that were there in the past, are not there any more, the knowledge since then is very different. It is my (and Fiom's) opinion that joining forces against illegal adoptions (child trafficking) and regarding tracing ánd counselling of adoptees and birth parents would be the best for all adoptees.
I will also look into the relations between ISS and Dutch adoption agencies, as this was new to me.
I will have contact with the Ministry and we will come back to you asap.
Best regards,
Truus
