Chile Netherlands Adopted Foundation - Stichting Geadopteerden Chile Nederland
Bienvenido!
Welcome to the website of the Chile Netherlands Adopted Foundation (GCN Foundation) . The foundation has existed since June 2023. We just started the foundation because we noticed that Chilean adoptees need answers to questions about their adoption.
The foundation has the following goals:
Advocating and representing the interests of children (now adults) adopted from Chile to the Netherlands, as well as their families, children and grandchildren, in their search for their identity, family ties, adoption background, cultural background and legal status in Chile as well as in the Netherlands. Considering inclusivity. These interests include, but are not limited to, adoption issues in the broadest sense of the word:
- Assistance in obtaining personal documentation that provides insight into individual adoption history;
- Assistance in the search for relatives living abroad and in Chile in particular ;
- Recovering and/or rediscovering Chilean identity, both legally and culturally.
- Striving for solutions for the double identity and nationality problem;
- Searching for solutions for the double name problem;
- Obtaining things that are necessary in daily life as a Chilean living abroad, for example the ClavaUnica, also the possibilities to open a current account and related matters;
- Information and guidance of marriage registrations;
- Information and guidance with birth registrations of 2nd generation children of adopted persons born in the Netherlands;
- Advising governments on how to help regain cultural identity through, for example, study funds, language and cooking courses and or other resources that can contribute to this.
We hope that more recognition and connection can also arise for Chilean adoptees by offering a listening ear. It is important that everyone feels at home here. We as the board of the foundation would like to be there for you to answer all your questions and to help and support you where necessary.
Do you have great ideas or tips let us know!
We look forward to seeing you!
Abraham!!
