Stichting Voorschot

Growing up young people with autism and another (mental) disability have the same needs as any other person: their own place to live, friends, security and independence.

A suitable place to live was almost impossible for them to find.
Thanks to the collaboration between Stichting Voorschot, the municipality of Voorschoten, housing corporation de Sleutels and the care provider ASVZ, these (young) adults have received what they are entitled to:

an ordinary life with the aim of working together with others to create social cohesion.

There are two groups of 8 residents. There are always 2 supervisors present in each group. The residents rent their 38 m2 studio and pay a contribution to the rent of the common areas. Each group has a shared living room. The supervisors cook there, with the help of the residents, and they eat together. They also spend a lot of free time in these living rooms.
