Pop star Madonna will take her four-year-old adopted daughter Chifundo ‘Mercy’ James to her country of birth, Malawi next week to let her meet biological father James Kambewa and dine with the Head of State.

According to a report in the Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper, the Queen of Pop will have a dinner with the President of Malawi, Dr Bingu wa Mutharika next week before flying on to New York.

The paper quoting sources, reported that Madonna will allow Chifundo to spend time with her father and learn about her Malawian background.

“Madonna wants Mercy to learn all about her culture and the community where she was born. She realises her kids need a sense of home and she’s determined to do all she can to give that to them.

“She doesn’t want to deny Mercy anything in life – and that includes meeting her dad if that’s possible,” the paper quoted the source.

Kambewa who works as a guard opposed the adoption but failed to legally fight it in courts.

However, Madonna wants to “iron out any problems face to face with him in Malawi.”

The 51-year-old singer is expected to take her adopted Malawian son David Banda, three, on the trip too.
