Thursday 22nd April: Open Day (half day)
14.00 hrs: Welcome from EurAdopt / Government of Norway / organisers.
Mr. Angelo Moretto, (Chairperson of EurAdopt).
Ms. Henriette Westhrin, (State Secretary, Ministry of Children, Equality
and Social Inclusion).
14.30 hrs: The inter-country adoption scene Chair: I. Lammerant
International Consultant and Trainer - Children’s Rights, Family Law and
Adoption, Geneva and lecturer at Freibourg University, Switzerland
Ms. Isabelle Lammerant: Has the approach to intercountry
adoption changed in the 21st century? Future changes to be
expected?
15.00 hrs: Ms. Wambui Njuguna (Chairperson of Africawide Movement for Children,
and regional Director of African Network for Protection and Prevention of
Child Abuse and Neglect, ANPPCAN East Africa): Strategies for
improvement of Family Based Care in Africa.
15.30 hrs: Dr Benyam Mezmur (Community Law Centre, University of Western Cape,
South Africa. PhD thesis focused on intercountry adoption in the African
context: "Intercountry adoption in Africa: “When and how is it
the best solution?"
16.00 hrs: Coffee/tea break.
16.30 hrs: Marlène Hofstetter: (Head of adoption department, Terre des Hommes,
Switzerland): Overview of the European situation; are we
addressing the real needs? With focus on Africa and Europe
17-18.00 hrs: Discussion
19.00 hrs: Dinner at the hotel (included).
Friday 23rd April: Open Day (full day)

France), “The views of adoptive families”.

Production of a EurAdopt policy document.

18.00 hrs: Guided sightseeing tour by bus in Oslo.
NB! The sightseeing ends in the town centre, and there is no dinner
included in the programme for Friday night. Participants may
choose to organise their own dinner in town (and return by public
transport) or to take the bus back and buy dinner at / near the
hotel.
21.00 hrs: Bus departure from the City Hall to the Hotel
