- We are of course sorry that you have had to take this step.
- On the other hand, if there has been some inconsistencies, so we are real happy for it to be cleared so we can get something done about it, said the chairman Ritzau.
DanAdopt hit the rocks back in November when TV2 showed the documentary "adoption come price", which portrays the adoption process for Masho, who now lives in an institution because she never fell in with his Danish adoptive parents.
The documentary also follows the biological parents losing battle to see the reports that they were promised for their lost adopted daughter's life in Denmark.
Karen Haekkerup initiated following an examination of the adoption process that Friday has led to DanAdopt so far not allowed to transmit multiple adoptions of children from Ethiopia.
In addition, the adoption company to account for its adoption process in all other countries, the adoptive children.
And it creates "nervousness and anxiety" among many Danish adoptive parents whether their adoption process has been properly carried out, like Danish couple with plans for adoption is concerned, says Jens Damkjær.
Although he believes, however, that Masho case will stand in the way of future adoptions of children from Ethiopia.
- This is how we know that there are still 77 out of 1000 children in Ethiopia who die before they are five years.
- So we have a hard time see that there will continue to be needed, that there are some children who can offer an upbringing in some other families than their biological, the President.
Jens Damkjær stresses that the Adoption and Society has full confidence in the Danish system and expects the authorities to take action if there are things that can not be done in relation to adoptions of children from other countries.
