«It pulled away the ground under my feet»
Legend: Audio "It has pulled away the ground under my feet" play. Running time 06:56 minutes.
06:56 min, from Regional Journal Ostschweiz of 30.01.2019.
She is one of about 700: The 37-year-old St. Gallen Tamara Kramer was most likely illegally adopted from Sri Lanka in Switzerland like hundreds of other children in the 1980s. These "Sri Lanka adoptions" have been a big topic in the media over the last few days and weeks - not least because the canton of St. Gallen published a report in a new window at the beginning of this week .
That pulled the floor from under my feet.
Author: Tamara Kramer
Adopted from Sri Lanka
The report analyzes the machinations of a carer from Bollingen in the canton of St. Gallen, who was responsible for arranging children from Sri Lanka to adoptive parents in Switzerland. On the other hand, the role of the St. Gallen authorities was scrutinized. The carer died in 1997. The report does not give the St. Gallen authorities of that time a good report.

Tamara Kramer still does not know who her biological mother is. But she does not want to give up her search for her. When asked why she stands there with her name and face and draws attention to the fate of her and a hundred others, she says: "It's not important to me that my name is in the foreground, but that the story is in the foreground. My name is forgotten, history is not. »

All others travel with their trauma back to the safe haven. Where do all the donations go for "Back to the Roots", certainly not to the roots. I do not want to make fun of the personal fates, but that money is flowing here, which nobody questions, is almost Sri Lankan!

At the moment it is hip to be a Sri Lankan victim (orphan). I understand all the questions very well, but everything else is a lamentation at a high level. Which or which of these orphans is committed to their lost homeland Sri Lanka today. Let's go on vacation here and then back to the so-called forcible home of Switzerland. I have been living in Sri Lanka for 12 years now, have met some of these orphans and only one is really getting involved in Sri Lanka.

Ms. Kramer, suppose ... it can not be changed and whether your birth mother wants to see you at all or is questionable .. you should not inflict more pain on yourself and others ... let it rest ... they have adoptive parents and I hope they had a good time with them. You have a floor under your feet .. the floor was your personality, you can not forget a floor like that. All the best in the present and future, FN
