Adoption case: Phone conversation between CM and P K Sreemathy leaked

Thiruvananthapuram: Phone conversation showing that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan

knew about the adoption of Anupama’s child before it came out through media has been

leaked. The conversation between the complainant Anupama and CPM leader P K

Sreemathy has been leaked.

P K Sreemathy can be heard saying to Anupama that the Chief Minister said that the

matter was between her and her parents and that there is no role for the party in the

matter. The leaked conversation took place before news came out through the media. "I

had intervened to solve this matter, but it was useless. I am helpless in this matter. It is not

the case in my district. I have talked to the Chief Minister. It is a matter related to the girl

and her parents." The Chief Minister said that there is no role for them in the matter,

Sreemathy can be heard telling Anupama.

When Anupama asks- ‘Aren’t my father and mother party members? Can't the party do

something about them? Then P K Sreemathy can be heard replying- ‘We could have done

something if it was against anyone else, but this is your father and mother.’’

P K Sreemathy can also be heard saying that CPM leader Brinda Karat had held

discussions with Kodiyeri Balakrishnan after hearing Anupama’s complaint. CPM’s stand

on the matter was that the Chief Minister and other party leaders came to know about the

matter through the media. The phone conversion counters the CPM stand.
