Mangaluru: Shettys happily marry off their adopted love child 22 yrs after tragedy struck them

Mangaluru, Dec 25: Since the last 22 years, Dinesh Shetty and Vijayalakshmi Shetty from Urwa are bringing up two girl children who lost their parents during their young age.

Dinesh Shetty owns a granite factory in Moodabidiri where several employees from different parts of the state work. A Bagalkote couple who was working in Dinesh Shetty granite factory lost their lives due to Malaria.

The Bagalkote couple has five children - three daughters and two sons. Among the five children, two daughters Jyothi and Tanuja are taken care by Dinesh Shetty and Vijayalakshmi for the past 22 years after the demise of their parents. While one daughter and one son got married another son is in Bagalkote.

Jyothi and Tanuja came into Dinesh Shetty and Vijayalakshmi’s lives when she was pregnant 22 years ago. Now the couple has three daughters Diya, Jyothi and Tanuja. It was the couple's kind gesture who decided to bring up two young girls and give life to the children who lost their parents. Dinesh Shetty has showered love and affection on them as if they were his own children along with Diya.

The couple was the constant support for Jyothi and Tanuja for their education and all kind of extra curricular activities who made them believe in themselves and succeed in their life. Three girls children along with their relative Payal share a good bonding which never made Jyothi and Tanuja feel that they are different from others. Diya also accepted Jyothi and Tanuja and have been continuously supporting one another in education with all kind of activities and also the ups and downs.

Talented children

Jyothi and Tanuja are the most talented children. After their parents lost their lives, Dinesh Shetty did not leave them alone and decided to bring them up along with their daughter Diya. Jyothi pursued her education till SSLC. Jyothi is an artist who trained at Prasad Art gallery and has beautified her house through her paintings. She also learnt embroidery and tailoring work.

While Tanuja has completed MSW at School of Social work Roshini Nilaya and is presently working with UNICEF, child protection unit system. Tanuja and Jyothi are actively involved in all kinds of extra curricular activities and has confidence to achieve something in life. Diya has completed her BBA and now she plans to pursue her MBA.

Jyothi ties knot on Dec 25

Jyothi tied the knot with Rajkumar hailing from Bidar who is also an artist. The wedding was held at Mangaladevi on December 25.

Vijayalakshmi Shetty said, "I need to thank my daughter Diya and my relatives daughter Payal for accepting both our daughters Jyothi and Tanuja . They have never done any kind of partiality in the last 22 years and their attachment is unimaginable."

Speaking to daijiworld Jyothi said, "I am not sure whether i would get the same love and affection from my parents had they been alive. I am blessed to bring them up in such a family for 22 years who has been support system through out my life and gave all kind of love, affection and support required for my education and other activities. I never felt the absence of my parents without any kind of partiality. I really miss them a lot as I have tied the knot on December 25 and will go to Bidar to start my new journey."

Relative Payal said, "We are happy that Jyothi has tied the knot on December 25. At the same time we are sad that she will be leaving us. Myself along with Diya, Jyothi, Tanuja shared good bonding, care and we supported one another during all the good and the bad days."

Bharathesh said, "Tanuja was visiting Kalburgi for her work and she informed how she and Jyothi was taken care by Dinesh Shetty and family. When the proposal came, myself and Tanuja visited Bidar to know more about the bridegroom Rajkumar. He is a good artist and a wonderful person. I thank Dinesh Shetty and Vijayalakshmi Shetty for nurturing these children filled with values, confidence and culture."
