TINSUKIA: The inmates and management of Keshav Bahety Surjudaya Children Home
at Gangabari near Makum in Tinsukia district have reason to rejoice as two couples from
Malta, a southern European island country, reached the children's home to adopt four
inmates on Wednesday after completion of all legal formalities.
Two Malta couples- Dorielle and Elton Vella and Claudienne and Miceli -who are
residents of TriqBieb is-Sultan Zabbar, were accorded affectionate welcome by
Premendra Sarma, president, Lalit Gogoi, Narayan Bahety, Akhil Chandra Baruah and
Priyanka Sarma, vice-president, advisor, secretary and superintendent of the children's
home. The four adopted children are Monika, Avik, Rashmi and Rani who lost their parents and had been staying
in the children's home for several years.
During the adoption ceremony they wore traditional dresses like dhuti and mekhela. The
official adoption under CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority) took place at
Tinsukia Zilla Parishad later in the afternoon at the initiative of ADOR, an NGO, in
presence of Tinsukia District Development Commissioner Nayan Jyoti Sabhapandit and
other officials. The children left with their new parents for Malta on Thursday. It is rightly
said, 'The world may not change by adopting a child, for that child their world will change'.
