Dreams Foundation
Welcome to Dreams Foundation!
It is our pleasure to provide you with information about us and our activity.
Dreams Foundation is a non-profit legal entity established in public benefit on February 25th, 2003 in Sofia, Bulgaria, in anticipation of the upcoming legal changes in Bulgaria related to the ratified Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (“the Convention”). The Foundation’s incorporation was as well a natural continuation if its founders’ activity – Antonia Vladimirova, Attorney-at-law and Margarita Sulova, Attorney-at-law had been working in the field of domestic and international adoptions since 1995. Dreams Foundation has been accredited by the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice for mediating in international adoptions since May, 2004. Our current license is valid till June 28, 2008.
We assume it a privilege to assist any adoption. It is our belief that helping an orphan to find a way home and helping a family to add a child to their home is the noblest activity. We have been experiencing the adoption miracle all along our way, and our motto “Dreams do come true”, reflects our happiness to be witnesses of the families’ and children’s triumph for their dreams coming true: to finally become a family, after fighting so many difficulties and obstacles.
Our goal has always been to make a difference in a child's life. But besides adoption, this difference can be made in the way of charity – directed towards children left behind in the orphanages and deprived of anything good in life. Throughout the years we managed to gather from nice people and distribute between the orphanages many thousands of US dollars. Therefore, it was natural to set as one of the Foundation’s goals carrying out numerous charity activities and projects for the purposes of helping those children who are in need.
Bulgaria has adopted new regulations harmonized with the requirements of the Convention mentioned above. One of the main directions of these changes was induction of accreditation process for the organizations willing to intermediate in international adoptions which process is a profound study of experience and professional skills of their specialists. Therefore, we are proud that Dreams Foundation successfully passed the re-accreditation process at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria to carry out mediation activity for international adoptions with respect to the USA, Greece and Cyprus.
