TONGI - Terres Des Hommes Interview 2019
TONGI - Terres Des Hommes Interview 2019
9 Februari 2019 (10:00 s’ochtends )
Conversation with Md. Mukhlesur Rahman Bhuiya
Mr. Bhuiya was an officer / employee of TDH Netherlands and he worked with Moslem Ali Khan (Manzur).
So it is predicted that he knows many things about the adoption took place under Mr. Khan at that time. Moreover, a few of the mothers who gave their child for adoption (they denied that they did not give their child for adoption) has told us about Mr. Bhuiya’s possible involvement with this also.
So, we have decided to talk to Mr. Bhuyia.
We went to Mr. Bhuiya (Me, Alom and Mother of xxxxx) on ….February 2019 and initially we placed Alom whether he could help us with information.
Then we tried to make him talk about Mr. Moslem Ali Khan and his involvement.
Initially he denied his involvement with adoption.
He told that he did not know anything about this.
He told us that he was harassed by one of the dutch adoptee (Mr. xxxxx) earlier for nothing.
We assured him that we did not go there for investigation or accusing him for child trafficking.
We told him that we were there only for information which might help us to search for Alom’s family.
He then started to talk about that adoption period.
He claimed that he came here at Tongi camp in the year 1978.
He accused Mr. Moslem Ali Khan directly for child trafficking.
He told that NICWO did steal children and all that was done under leadership of Moslem Ali Khan for money.
He also mentioned that he was aware about the manipulation of the original details of the children by NICWO as their intention was bad.
Mr. Bhuiya is still working inside the Tongi camp but not under TDH.
He is now working for another organization name DRRA.
TDH according to him has left that area since 2010.
Conversation with few mothers who lost their children
We have also talked to a few mothers who gave their children to NICWO.
All of them clearly mentioned that they did not aware of this adoption.
They were told that their children were taken for better living and education.
They were also told that they could see their children every now and then.
After giving their children to NICWO, they did not see them again.
The mothers even went to Dhaka (baby home) to see their children but they were threatened for not to come back there again.
